Oasis Ruby Award

We, at Oasis Christian Center, would like to attract senior women (ages 65 and above) who have manifested a legacy that continues to inspire others in their community. She has dedicated her life to the advancement of others and has paved the way for the young women of tomorrow. She is recognized for her extraordinary faith, dedication, personal achievements, and service to others through mentorship, philanthropy, and business. Her life represents the glory of God and the essence of a virtuous woman.

Why should I submit a nomination?

Submitting a nomination is an opportunity to share good news and give well-earned recognition to a wise and mature woman who have made a difference in your life or lives of others. The Oasis Ruby Award is a way to highlight the noteworthy accomplishments and contributions of seniors who have blazed the trail for women today to have better opportunities in our homes, workplaces, and communities. Award recipients motivate others to excel and persevere in pursuit of their dreams. Any individual or organization may submit a nomination.

What is the nomination process?

A successful nomination requires the completion of three steps:

1. Nominate a woman for the Oasis Ruby Award by April 19, 2024.
2. Nominees must accept the nomination by April 26, 2024; and any supporting documents that the Awards committee needs to complete the application.
3. All nominees must purchase a ticket to and attend the Treasured Women Gala on May 17, 2024. Award recipients will be announced at the gala.

• Nominees must be age 65 and above
• Major emphasis should be placed on significant contributions to the community. 
• Individual must have enhanced the community through their life’s work, engagement of others, volunteerism and other impactful acts of service to the community for any age group. This can include:
  1. community development activities/decision-making processes
  2. volunteering with/donating to charitable organizations
  3. constructive involvement in social networks 
  4. concerted efforts to enrich the wellbeing or character of others.
• Service in any field of endeavor will be considered (e.g., education, radio, television, business, healthcare, art, music, journalism, faith-based, athletics, politics, volunteerism).

What provisions must I follow to avoid being disqualified?

1. Awards will be presented at the annual Treasured Women Gala in May. This event is hosted by the P:31 Women’s Ministry at Oasis Christian Center in Tallahassee Florida. All finalists must pay for a ticket and attend the gala in person for the entire event. Ticket costs can be deducted from award money upon request by notified recipient.
2. Nominees must be over 65 years of age and must submit an official application to be eligible for the Oasis Ruby Award. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
3. Nominees must submit a photo headshot. All nomination/application materials—including non-copyrighted photos or videos submitted—become the property of Oasis Christian Center (“Sponsor”).
4. Accordingly, Nominees grant the Sponsor permission to use/publish their names, bio and likeness for editorial, marketing, or promotional purposes without compensation unless prohibited by law.
5. If a Nominee is selected and cannot be contacted, is deemed ineligible, or fails to claim an award, an alternate recipient will be selected, or the award will be withheld altogether.
6. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any reason. All taxes and any other incidental expenses on prizes are the sole responsibility of each Nominee/Recipient.
7. The Sponsor reserves the right to change or terminate the TWG Awards Program at any time. Employees/members of Oasis Christian Center are not eligible to be a Recipient but may receive special recognition as an Honoree if nominated. 
8. Nominees may be renominated in subsequent years but both a new nomination and application must be submitted by the award year deadline to be reconsidered.

By submitting a nomination, you agree: to be bound by these Official Rules; to only submit information that is accurate, true, and forthright to the best of your knowledge; and the Sponsor’s decisions are final.
